Summer 2013

This past summer was one filled with family, friends, and treasured memories. Unfortunatelty, living in the north I got my fair share of snow days this winter that needed to be added to the end of the year. This resulted in my summer starting on June 26th (blegh). That left exactly two months and three days of blissful vacation. Funnily enough when left with a brief summer; you tend to make the most of it.

Now I could write an entire book about the summer of 2013 but I'll spare you. Here are the highlights -

In the beginning of July, my cousin and I were lucky enough to be in the same room as One Direction. No, we didn't meet them (heh... I wish) but we did get the pleasure of attending a concert from the Take Me Home Tour :) (hey don't judge).

It was truly amazing. For the people who say they can't sing well you're entitled to your wrong opinion ;) They were brilliant. Although we didn't exactly have front row seats, it was still thoroughly enjoyable. I even discovered 5 Seconds Of Summer who I quite enjoy listening to now. Ok, on with it then.

Living 10 minutes away from the coastline there were plenty of beach days.

And also just fun times walking around town with friends.

I spent a lot of time at the art studio where I take lessons.

I started to work on re-painting (I don't really know what to call it) a piece of Mary Cassatt's and I've still yet to finish.
(sorry bad picture)
Well, I also haven't finished my painting of Snow White from last July. Let's just say I like to take my time.

August rolled around, as did  my birthday :)

My family and I went to the Patriots Place (GO PATS!!!...... Again, don't judge) to celebrate and we got to see Tom Brady and the rest of the team practicing in person! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, the Patriots are an American football team and Patriots Place is a shopping area built around their stadium. Pretty cool.

I also got my second piercing which I loveeeee. Earlier in the summer I had submitted a drawing to a T-shirt design contest for a summer youth orchestra I was participating in (I play the Violin). In the middle of august they chose the design and... It was mine!!

I was sooo excited1 I really didn't think that I would win there were a ton of amazing entries. Not only do over 100 people across the state have a T-shirt with my drawing and name on it, but I also received a prize and was recognized in front of everyone at the concert. Wow.

My next summer adventure was a trip to Vermont to visit my family friends. They own a little farm there and it was really nice to get in touch with nature. We went horse back riding, blueberry picking, canoeing, hiking, and apple picking; all in their backyard.

I also may have fallen in love with their cat.

The remainder of August I spent doing...... wait for it.....

Homework (dun dun dunnnn)

The nerve of my teachers. I had to read a book called Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell (which was actually quite interesting I suggest checking it out) and write 4 summaries on it, then I had to read Tom Sawyer,by Mark Twain (a classic) and do a 27 page math packet. Torture.

Anyways, school is once again in session and we're all getting crazy busy with sports, clubs, academics and social issues. Hmm maybe my posts will be more interesting. Haha I hope you had a wonderful summer and you have an even better school year. Adios Amigos xx.
